Pro-Coin 2008 is available
Pro-Coin 2008 was updated on 10-1-2007. Several new features have been added. Please visit Pro-Coin Information for a complete listing of features.

Current Users please follow these steps to update.

  1. Create a backup from Pro-Coin 2007. This file will have a .pcb extension and should be saved somewhere on your PC.
  2. Verify that the backup exists. If it does not your collection will be lost.
  3. Run the uninstall of Pro-Coin 2007.
  4. Download Pro-Coin 2008 from here
  5. Double click on this file to start the install
  6. Once installation is complete, start the software and restore the backup you created in the first step.
At this point you should have Pro-Coin 2008 installed with your pre 2008 backup restored.

Future updates will be done using the built-in update utility. This release could not use the update utility due to extensive updates for MS Vista.

Please email us at support@mwpsoftware.com with any questions.

I get an update error -- Table alreacy exists: column_order. Whats the problem?
If Pro-Coin 2008 was installed between October 4 and November 28 2007, an out of date update location was being used to apply updates. This out of date file will not have a negative affect for any coins added during this time period. This can easily be corrected by clicking here and saving the properties file to the "lib" directory in your Pro-Coin install location.

The folder is usually located at C:/Program Files/Pro-Coin/lib

When prompted it is ok to overwrite the current file. Please contact us at support@mwpsoftware.com with any questions.

Any coin can be added to Pro-Coin using the "Add User Defined Coin" option found under the Tools menu. Many users have used this option to add items such as Rolls and Currency.

How do I enter more than one coin of the same grade, value, etc...?
When adding a coin users have the option of entering a quantity. So if a user has 20 1971 Washington Quarters graded MS-65, they can enter a quantity of 20 and any other common attributes about the coin. When collection values are calculated the quantity is multiplied by the value to give a correct valuation of the collection.

Is there a booklet?
Currently there is no booklet for Pro-Coin. However, there is an extensive electronic manual within Pro-Coin. Any questions that cannot be answered by the help manual, may be answered here in the FAQs. Please send e-mail to support@mwpsoftware.com if your question cannot be answered by these two sources. We respond to e-mail within a few hours.

When will Pro-Coin be updated?
There is no set schedule for when Pro-Coin is updated. If new coins are released, bugs are found, etc.. we prepare an update and place it on our web site. What is your biggest advantage over other programs?
We feel that we have several advantages over other programs.

First and most important, we listen to our customers. If a feature is requested, we add it to our list and get it into a future update. We attempt to answer any e-mail within 24 hours (usually much quicker) so you don't have to wait days for an answer.

Second, we provide a single click update. As new coins are released and features are added to our software, users can be updated in a matter of seconds. Most vendors charge for these types of updates. Our product grows as the hobby grows.

Third, we offer a free trial of our software so users can be assured of what they are getting.

I've installed Pro-Coin 2008 on Vista, but I still see my 2007 data
With MS Vista application data is sometimes stored in a folder called AppData. If Pro-Coin 2007 had previously been installed on your Vista computer you may still see 2007 data when upgrading to Pro-Coin 2008.

If this problem is encountered it can be fixed by deleting the directory

C:\users\USER\AppData\Pro-Coin
